She was the 3rd child, second daughter of Benjamin Edgar Kemp. She did most of her growing up at Beaver Creek, New Mexico on her father's homestead.
She was a good shot with a rifle and had very good eyesight. She could see a deer on a hill far away when others couldn't. She was "appointed" to kill turkey. She shot them out the kitchen window!
Her nickname growing up was "Guy". She met John Albert at Beaver Creek when he stayed with them for awhile.
She survived health problems. Her hair came back in white after one illness. The other time, it was doubted she would live after giving birth to her last child.
She loved to play solitaire. She would put salt on the side of her hand and eat it.
