The Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol I–VI, 1607-1943, says that Abraham was born in Columbiana County (Important: This does not mean that the family lived in the town of Columbiana--they always lived in rural townships). I am hesitant to use this information because I have found a lot of information about this family that was either egregiously recorded and/or transcribed. However, there are 1826 tax records for Abraham's father in Columbiana County, so they were living there at least by then, and he was born somewhere in Ohio. Abraham moved onward from Ohio to Iowa, as did his father, some siblings, and other relatives.

Abraham's first wife was named Malinda, with a last name of either Hiatt or Bogue--suggested genealogies for her are muddled and contradictory. He married her in Henry County in 1842 and she died there in 1847. They had 2 children, Phoebe and Oliver, who became the stepchildren of Abraham's 2nd wife. I will link them.

Abraham married Esther Smith in Henry County in 1851. I haven't found any genealogy for her ancestors--she was living with an unrelated family in 1850 before their marriage, as a servant and/or boarder, probably. Abraham and Esther had one birth child, Henry, whom I will also link. In the 1850s they moved from Henry County to Cedar County, and in the 1870s they moved from Cedar County to Poweshiek County. After 1880, they moved to the town of Kellogg in Jasper County, which was their final home--both Abraham and Esther were still living there when they died. In all of the places they lived, Abraham was farming.
