Brenda Williams Starner was born May 11, 1948 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, daughter of the late James Williams and Inez Bolton Mathews. Brenda was the devoted wife to the late Rev. Robert Aaron Starner.

She worked many years for Z F Meritor, Inc. and later for the office of Tony Morgan. She was a member of Woodville Pentecostal Holiness where she served as Sunday School teacher and with the Ladies Auxiliary Ministry. Brenda enjoyed reading her Bible, shopping, and doing word search puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She passed away to her Heavenly home at the age of 73 on January 9, 2022.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a grandchild, Gabrielle Pruitte and sisters, Delores Whitley and Patricia C. Chavis.

Brenda leaves behind her sons, James Kenneth "Ken" Pruitte (Shirl), Christopher Blake "Chris" Pruitte (Carol), all of Laurel Hill; daughter, Paula Pruitte Fairley of Parkton; sister, Vickie Rice of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Austin Pruitte (Thomas), Faith Pruitte, James Kenneth Pruitte, Jr., Christopher Blake Pruitte, Jr. (Nikki), Nicholas Pruitte, Erin Pruitte, Elijah Pruitte, Chelsea Fairley, and Ed Fairley (Madisun) great grandchildren, Kameron Locklear, Abbi Locklear, Ariya Wallace, Karah Ann Wallace, Jayden Henderson, Emilee Dickerson, Ezra Fairley, Axton Fairley, Jakai Washington, Alexander Zamarano, Gianluca Zamarano; special friends, Jean and Clyde Daniels and Ruth Ward, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. Chris Pruitte, Rev. Nicholas Pruitte, and Rev. Legrande Taylor. Burial will follow in Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
