Born on December 23, 1933, in Russell County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Timothy Bryant and Eliza Grider Gasper. Richard was a retired construction worker and tobacco farmer. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Chris Bryant, and Nathan Bryant, both of Russell Springs; two daughters, Shanna Bryant of Columbia, and Rhonda (and Scott) Bryant-Marsh of Lexington; and one grandson, Elijah Bryant of Columbia. Richard is also survived by two half-brothers, Alex John (and Fonda) Gasper of Florida and Jimmy (and Susan) Gasper of Louisville; and one half-sister, Sandy (and Mike) Thrasher of Hartford, Connecticut.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a Grand-Daughter Latasha Shay Bryant; one sister, Rozella Richards; a half brother Ronald John Gasper.
Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Kenny Kimbler officiating. Burial will follow in Richards Cemetery with military honors performed by the Russell County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home.
