Dean was baptized and confirmed at United Church of Christ in Belvidere, NE.
Dean grew up on the farm near Carleton, NE area where he attended school at Coon Ridge
Country School until 7th grade and attended Belvidere High School and graduated in 1958. Following High School he attended Doane College.
After attending college for one year, Dean moved back home to farm with his Dad. Being surrounded by God's great creation while raising crops and attending to livestock was one of Dean's favorite things.
Dean met Shirley Bowman at a dance in Hubbell, NE. They were united in marriage on April 29, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning. They lived and raised their family on a farm in rural Carleton, NE. The union was blessed with four children.
Dean always enjoyed being involved in the annual "Milo Days" celebration and was a long time member of the Thayer County Livestock Feeders. He always looked forward to going out for supper at area restaurants with his special friend, JoAnne and watching grandchildren at their sporting events and school functions.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Bernice Baker, wife Shirley Baker, son-in-law Charlie Kelly, sister Nancy Real, and infant sister Margaret.
Interment will be in Bruning Public Cemetery Bruning, NE.
