Eward Etson Eoff served in the Confederate Army in Co B 2nd Regiment of Missouri Cavalry. He transferred Sept 21, 1862 to Capt William E Dawson's Company of Light Artillery. He was permanently disabled at Collierville (Tn) Nov 3, 1862 by a severe wound in his left wrist.
Henry Vaiden Eoff, a grandson, wrote: "Edward Etson Eoff...fought in the Civil War, was wounded and a family named Stephen on what is now the Looxahoma-Tyro Road took him in and kept him until he recovered ....After the war, Edward returned here and married Emma Stephen." (Substitute the name Stephenson for Stephen).
