"SUPERVISOR HAROLD HENRY DIES SUDDENLY IN KING CITY"
Harold G. Henry, 57, supervisor for the rural, southern portion of Monterey County, died of a heart attack Saturday night at his home in King City. His death came at 7:15 p.m. after he retruned from a day of campaigning in the Salinas Valley. Henry was seeking reelection to a third term on the Board of Supervisors. . . .
He is survived by his widow, Alice, of the family home; a daughter, Doris Henry, a school librarian in Santa Maria; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Bastedo, of Pacific Grove; a niece and numerous cousins in San Benito and Monterey counties. ...
Henry was born July 24, 1908, in King City, the son of the late George P. and Minnie Harrison Henry, a Monterey County pioneer family. He was educated in King City schools, and became the city's mayor in 1945, a position he held for the eight years he was on the council. Henry was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1958, and took office in January, 1959. He served as chairman of the board in 1963. . . .
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. . . . in King City. Interment will be in the family plot at the King City cemetery."
