John Emerson Brown died at a St Petersburg nursing home in Saint Petersburg, FL on November 23, 1974 after a long illness. He was born on December 19, 1892 in Ireland; the son of James and Mary (Smith) Brown.

He had resided in St Petersburg and formerly resided in Revere, MA and Claremont, NH. He had been employed by the old Sullivan Machine Co in Claremont and he retired from the Boston Maine Railroad in 1954. He was a former Deacon at the Lake Maggiore Baptist Church in St Petersburg.

He married Bertha French on April 27, 1916 in Claremont.

He was preceded in death by daughter Winona.

His family includes his wife; son Albert J Brown of Lexington, MA [died 2002 in MA]; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister Mrs Edward Twyon of Claremont.

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery.
