Jody will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, Eric, along with their children - Kim (LeAnn) Walters, Stacy Petrie and Cory Payne. Along with her grandbabies Kayla, Leah, Kaitlyn, Lucas and Lauren and her very special great-grandaughter whom she loved very, very much – Adelyn Rae.
She was preceded in death by her mother Donna Walters and brothers Jay and Jamie Walters and her brother-in-law, Doug Slama. She is further survived by her father, Dale Walters and sister Janny Slama, nieces and nephews.
Jody was a lifelong resident of Waukesha. Jody owned and operated Annie Lou's resale shop for more than 15 years where she developed many lasting friendships through the years with her customers. She was always there for her family and friends and made her house a home where everyone was always welcome. She never missed an opportunity to go cheer on her grandkids – she loved watching the band performances and was Lucas & Lauren's biggest (and loudest) baseball/softball fan !! Jody loved traveling with her family going on many vacations through the years creating lasting memories that will always be cherished. Jody was an amazing cook – with specialties of taco dip, potato salad, meatloaf, sloppy joes, shrimp molds, broccoli cheese casserole and fluff….So many favorites that will never taste the same. She had a great talent for gardening and took pride in her flowers – her yard was always full of beautiful perennials and hanging baskets. She also loved watching the birds in her yard. She loved her pepsi, dancing to polkas, going to movies and relaxing with a glass of wine.
Jody had a strong voice when advocating for what she believed in. Her loud voice could be heard in a crowded room.
Jody was an extreme thrift store shopper and rummage saler - she was always finding great deals and sharing them with family and friends. If you needed something, Jody would find it! She loved thrifting and passed this love on to her granddaughters.
She was a huge supporter of Waukesha and loved attending band concerts at Cutler Park, parades, fireworks, county fair, counsel meetings and other city events. Jody especially loved going out to eat with Eric and many good friends. She was probably at her happiest with a bucket of crab legs at the casino or sitting at a "hot" machine.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all her knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd. (corner of Hwy J & JJ, 4 blocks south of Interstate 94) Waukesha, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM with a Service at 6:00 PM. A private burial will be Friday at Prairie Home Cemetery.
