Jay was born August 8, 1957, at Saint Francis Hospital in Milwaukee to Dale and Donna (Wing) Walters. He attended Waukesha Schools. He worked in masonry construction. He loved his huge garden, hunting, fishing and canning the fruits of his labor. Jay enjoyed playing baseball, dart ball, and trap shooting, also watching the Packers and the Brewers. In his younger years Jay raced snowmobiles and took home many trophies.
Jay is survived by his parents Dale and Donna Walters of Packwaukee, two sisters, Jody (Eric) Payne of Waukesha and Janny (Douglas) Slama of Packwaukee, and brother, James Walters of Packwaukee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, close friend Steve Rapp and many other friends.
Jay is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry G. and Dorothy B. Wing, paternal grandparents, Leonard and Glenola Walters, and infant nephew Cole Dale Slama.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha, WI 53188 (on the corner of Hwy J & JJ, about 4 blocks south of I-94), from 3:00 PM until time of the Funeral Service at 6:30 PM. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 9th Ave., Packwaukee, WI.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated for a memorial that will be established in Jay's name.
