Eddie Ventis Menges was born November 25, 1938 in Blue, Arizona to Raymond Peter Menges and Mary Stella Jane (Joy) Menges. He went home to meet his Lord and Savior on May 12, 2014. Most of Ed's education was attained in Globe, AZ. After receiving a degree in electrical engineering, he spent 17 years as a foreman at the Douglas Smelter for Phelps Dodge Corp. Ed met Clara Daniels in Bisbee and they married April 30, 1960. Ed and Clara served in the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Douglas for 42 years. He was ordained a deacon in 1999. At the time of his passing, Ed was a beloved member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Bisbee. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his five brothers: Luther Gene, Lester, Louis, Trupe Carter, and Farrell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clara, his children Lorie (Alan Lott), Eddie (Arlene), and Bobbi (Chris Crucilla), and by his sister Patsy Wiediger (Don). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his special sister-in-law Nellie Kinnebrew. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Bisbee, Arizona.
