Phil was born to John and Marjorie Moffatt Sackett in Shawnee, OK. He married Cheryle D. Miller January 27, 1967 in DesMoines, Iowa.

He attended the University of IL and received his PHD in Physical Chemistry in 1971. Phil did research for the U.S. Air Force at Cambridge Research labs in Bedford, MA. Whileliving in MN he taught Chemistry at Bethel College, pastored 2 Christian and Missionary Alliance churches, and did research and writing for the Minnesota Family Council. In 1993 he tooka position at Olicet University in Bourbonnais, IL Through all the years Phil's faith and trust in his Savior only increased. To God be the Glory!

He is survived by his wife, four children and 2 grandsons: Gregory of Kankakee, David and Laura of Bloomington, IL; Nathan, presently serving with the U.S. marines in Iraq and Daughter, Julianne and Ryan Goudzwaard of Kankakee, grandsons, Noah and Andrew of Bloomington. And brothers Richard and Carolyn of Aurora, IL and Robert and Karen of Plymouth, MN.
