She grew up and attended school in Hamilton County, and worked for the Farmer's Union Creamery for 19 years. She was also employed at the Aurora Hospital for 4 years, and then stayed at home and took care of her mother and later her brother "Pete". She resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora at the time of her death.
She was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church, where she played piano for many years.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Reuben, Thure, Henry, and Rudolph "Pete" Ortegren. 2 sisters, Segrid Moore, and Hilma Luthy.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her brother, Douglas Ortegren of Aurora, a sister Irma Timmons of Aurora, and nieces and nephews.
