Michael Clinton, 80, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at his home near Van Patten. He had been seriously ill since Sunday. Mr. Clinton was born on Christmas day, 1860 in East Grove township, Lee county, the son of Michael and Ellen Fitzsimmons Clinton. He had always resided near Ohio and Walnut, and had lived near Van Patten for the past 17 years.

His wife, the former Bridget Scully of Ohio, Illinois preceded him in death in September, 1935. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. P R Deinslake of Walnut: four sons Joseph and Francis, of the home, Anthony of Van Patten, and Vincent of Ohio, Illinois: one sister, Miss Mary Clinton of Amboy: and eight grandchildren.

The body has been taken to the Deinslake home at Walnut where the rosary will be recited at 9:30 o'clock tonight. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Flannen's Catholic church in Harmon. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery at Ohio.
