Helen Hammond Jones, Born February 16, 1918 in New Harmony, Utah to Orson Hammond and Sarah Melissa Deuel, their youngest of four daughters, passed away on December 15th, 2007.

Helen grew up in New Harmony and went to school there thru the 8th grade. She loved life and played on a local baseball team with girls her age. After she graduated from the 8th grade she moved to St. George to attend high school, living with her sister Annetta and Idona. She met Myron LeFevre Jones at a local dance and he was smitten by her good looks and quiet charm. The following day she got a visit from him and he asked her for a date. They continued to date when ever Myron had free time from the sheep herd where he worked. He finally decided that she was the woman for him and asked her to marry him. She said "Yes" and ordered the rings. They were married June 9th, 1937 in the St. George Temple. They spent their honeymoon on Cedar Mountain where Myron had the sheep herd. They made their home in St. George where their four children Allen Myron, Alice, Calvin Orson and Lynda were born.

Helen served her church by teaching primary for many years. She loved working in her yard and garden growing vegetables and flowers. She loved to sew her daughter's dresses and made many quilts for her children and grandchildren's weddings, she crocheted many lovely doilies. She loved listening to Lawrence Welk's music especially the accordion. She wanted to learn how to play the accordion but never got the chance. When ever she could she went with Myron while he built roads and ponds on the Arizona Strip. Helen would help by driving the truck, pulling their camp trailer, following behind the road grader or caterpillar.

Helen stood by her husband's side, honoring and loving him for over 70 years, bound and determined never to leave him, but on December 15th 2007 she left her earthly home to prepare a mansion for them to live together for eternity.

Helen is survived by her loving husband Myron LeFevre Jones.

Children: Allen Myron (Nadine) Jones, Alice (Lynn)Hiatt, Calvin Orson (Leta)Jones, Lynda (James)Jensen, 19 grand children, 43 great grand children and 6 great-great grandchildren and two on the way. (count includes extended family)
