Born November 19, 1936, she was the daughter of Clair S. Buchart of York and Mary (Strine) Buchart of Lancaster. She graduated from William Penn Senior High School (York), then attended Penn State University. She was a resident of York County for more than 80 years. During her lifetime Barbara was an antique dealer, hospital administrator and volunteer coordinator, and worked in various capacities to benefit a variety of non-profit organizations, as well as serving in the Junior League. She was a talented artist who created unique art, furnishings, and miniatures. Barb is remembered for her kindness, creative ideas, lively storytelling, and quick wit.
Barbara is survived by her brother, C. Scott Buchart, and wife, Diane, of York; niece, Laurel Sanders, and husband, Graham, of State College and their children Erica and Michelle; nephew, Scott Buchart, and wife, Lynn, of Port Orange, Florida and their children, Morgan and Cole; a niece, Martha Sloboda; and a nephew, David Buchart.
Cremation arrangements will be made by Kramer Family Funeral & Cremation Center, 7205 Gilpin Way #130, Denver, CO 80229. At a future date (spring 2022), a Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 200 E. Market Street, Hallam, PA. Information about contributions in her memory will be provided when the service is announced.
