Bill Myers is the son of Joe Myers and Rosa Irene (Grissom) Myers.

CEDAR BLUFF Denverzane “Bill” Myers, 74, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at his home. He was a member of the Church of God in Starkville and was a retired A-fitter welder for Babcock & Wilcox Company after 27 years of service. He was a native of Mantee and moved to West Point in 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph and Rosa Grissom Myers; and his first wife, Maycel Jean Charles Myers on Nov. 26, 1960. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve McCullar and Bro. Mike Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby A. Myers of Cedar Bluff; three sons, Clayton Dell Myers and Hugh Darrell Myers, both of Cedar Bluff and Joseph Wayne Myers of Fernandia Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Emmie Malone of Cedar Bluff, Louise Scott of Huntsville, Ala., Catherine Wactor of Meadville, Frances Cash, Minrose Matthews and Norma Clardy, all of West Point.

Pallbearers will be John McGarity, Glen Scott, Lynn Wactor, Neal Myers Jr., Ron Matthews, Larry Stafford, Danny Cash, Eddie Clardy and C.A. Simmons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Reddie Harris, Alva Blake Jr., Dale Matthews, Tommy Reynolds, Aubrey Blair, Erin Myers, Lee Keenum, Frankie Puckett, Dr. R.T. Lott and his friends and former co-workers at Babcock & Wilcox Company.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House Chapel, 535 Alabama Ave., Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
