Born April 23, 1958 in York County, SC, she was the daughter of Reverend Richard Jackson Phillips and Arlene Terlinde "Mitzie" Phillips. Many years ago, Jane and Robert "Bobby" Daniel Evans were friends in school, later in life they reconnected and have been married for the past two and one half years. Jane and Bobby shared Christian beliefs and they had begun a good life together until illness took Jane from this earth.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane is survived by her children, Joshua Wayne Joy (Shanna), Erin Joy Lunsford (Jeffrey), and Kirsten Moss Hewlett (Chad); grandchildren, Brantley Lunsford, Jackson Lunsford, Brooks Lunsford, Berklee Hewlett, Emory Jo Hewlett and baby boy Asher Joy due to arrive in March of 2022; brother, Richard Bruce Phillips; best friend of 50 years, Janet French; many other extended family and friends, all who dearly loved Jane.
Jane was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Belmont, NC.
Jane, who was affectionately called MiMi, was so proud of her children, their spouses and her grandchildren, who were true treasures in her life. Loving God's wonderful world of nature, Jane loved gardening, working in her yard and even cutting grass. She loved all animals; her dogs led a charmed life, and she also raised goats and chickens. Jane will be remembered for her infectious laughter, radiant smile, never meet a stranger personality, and most of all for her loving, giving spirit.
A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Burgaw Baptist Church with the Rev. Jan Deans and the Rev. Danny Justice officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
