Adrian Alford
Services for Adrian Alford, 80, of Palestine, Texas will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bailey and Foster Chapel with Bill Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Starr Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mr. Alford died December 12, 2008, at Cartmell Home in Palestine. He was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Anderson County to the late George Alfred Alford and Lottie Rogers Alford. Mr. Alford was a member of the Swanson Hill United Methodist Church. He worked as a machinist for the railroad and was a retired maintenance supervisor from Calhoun Packing.
Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ila 'Janice' Alford, in 2001. Adrian and Janice married in Oct of 1945.
He is survived by his daughter, Carla Cubstead and husband Mike; sons, Allen Alford and Robin, and Darrell Alford and wife Vicki; sisters, Anita Wylie and Eurita Rieger; brother, Virgil Alford; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tom Calhoun, Jeff Hutton, Gary Todd, James B. Strube, Cody Alford and Craig Alford.
