Lucille Marjorie (Sheldahl) Cline, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Slater, Iowa on Monday, November 22nd,2021 surrounded by family.
Lucy was born on February 25th,1926 in rural Slater, the daughter of Joseph and Maytie Sheldahl. Lucy graduated from Kelley (Iowa) High School in 1943. On May 29th, 1943, she was united in marriage to Robert Dallas Cline.
Lucy was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater and an active volunteer in the local community. Lucy and her husband Bob spent many years as missionaries in Papua New Guinea and the Philippines teaching English and spreading God's word. Upon return from mission work, Lucy worked as a secretary for Hach Chemical in Ames, Iowa until her retirement.
Lucy is survived by her children: Phil (Kay) Cline of Ankeny, Iowa, Wayne Cline of Slater, Iowa, and Jeannie (Joel) Emerson of Eagle, Wisconsin, 10 grandchildren: Mike, Wendy, Sunday, Tia, Matthew, Noah, Marissa, Aaron, Holly, Stephanie, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her daughter Sharon, her parents, 7 siblings, and her daughter-in-law Barb. Her sister, Dottie, passed away a few days after Lucy on November 25, 2021.
A joint service will be held for Lucy and Dottie at 10:00 AM on December 11th,2021 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater, Iowa.
