Dorothy "Dottie" Elizabeth Cline passed away Thursday, November 25th at the Madrid Nursing Home in Madrid Iowa.
Dottie was born April 27, 1924 to Joseph and Maytie Sheldahl. She had 8 siblings, graduated from Kelly (Iowa) High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, as well as American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines, Iowa.. She married Darrell Cline November 21, 1945. They had 2 children, Ron (Kathy) Cline of Huxley, Iowa and Darla (Scott) DeGroot of Ames, Iowa.
She was employed by South Story Bank in Slater for 26 years until her retirement. She was a very active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a resident of Slater since 1952. Dottie loved to cook and bake. She hosted family dinners every Sunday and always welcomed other friends or family to join her. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan as well as Iowa State University basketball fan. As the family grew, she welcomed 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Darrell and her 8 siblings. Dottie's younger sister Lucy passed away at her home on Monday, November 22nd. A joint funeral service will be held for the Cline sisters on December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 411 3rd Street in Slater, Iowa.
