Stonewall Jackson , the Grand Ole Opry's most senior member Jackson went on to record over 30 top singles from 1958-68 in his har country shuffle style. Jackson was a familiar face at the Opry for over 50 years.

The 89-year-old was a member of the Grand Ole Opry for 65 years, making him the most tenured member until his death on Saturday (Dec. 4). He joined the Opry on Nov. 3, 1956 and later even recorded a live album from the stage.

Stonewall Jackson was born on Nov. 6, 1932, in Tabor City, N.C.
He later enlisted in the Navy and began honing his musical skills. Shortly afterward, he moved to Nashville to try to become a songwriter and began his over 60 year career in country music
