She was born in Cross Roads to Bama Grant Cherry and Andrew Cherry.
Mrs. Jones married Robert F. Barton of Cayuga where they ran and operated Barton's General Store. After his death in 1937, she later closed the store and moved to Galena Park where she married Finis F. Jones.
She was a member of Allendale Baptist Church in Houston.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by husbands, Robert E. (F?) Barton and Finis E. Jones; children, Clayrene Barton and Robert Lee Barton; brother, A. C. Cherry Jr.; and sisters, Theresa Dillard, Sadie Alexander and Florence Locke.
She is survived by children, Fowler Day Barton, Betty Ruth Marketos, Bobby Wayne Barton and Hunter Barton; sister, Mildred Rampy; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
