Jay Roy Bishop, of Sellersville, PA, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA. He was 78.

He was the loving husband of Edna M. "Sam" (Camburn) Bishop. The couple would have celebrated their 40 wedding anniversary on November 28, 2021.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Willis M. and Mildred (Detweiler) Bishop. He was a 1961 graduate of Pennridge High School.

Jay served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, stationed in the Dominican Republic, assigned to communications.

Following the Army, Jay went to work for the U.S. Gauge, Division of AMETEK, Sellersville, for 42 years where he worked in the Aerospace Division, until his retirement in 2005. After that, he worked for Car Quest, now known as Advanced Auto, Souderton, PA delivering auto parts until October of 2021.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Perkasie, where he served as trustee, usher, prayer partner and was active in Light Bearers children's ministry.

A car and motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Ready Riders Motorcycle Club. In his earlier years, he enjoyed drag racing cars at the Vargo Dragway, Bedminster Twp. as well as off road dirt biking. In his later years, he enjoyed going to flee markets.

Surviving with his wife is a son, Andrew Thomas Bishop and his wife Brenna Lynn, of Quakertown; two grandchildren, Devon Rose and Bode Roy Bishop; two brothers, James Bishop and his wife Kathy, of Fruitland Park, FL and his twin brother, Jon Ray Bishop and his wife Diane, of Blooming Glen, PA; a sister, Dorothy Oliver and her husband Howard, of Souderton, PA and a sister-in-law, Mai Bishop, of Lansdale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jan Michael Bishop and two sisters, Darlene McGinn and her husband Raymond "Reds" McGinn and Sandra K. Mayer.

His funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 3, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Perkasie, 1600 N. 5th Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie, PA.
