Son of W. Charlton and Martha Ann Bennett Westberry. Brother of Francis Marion Westberry;Mary Elizabeth Westberry; John Walter Westberry; Justina "Tiny" Westberry Harper and Henry Westberry (father of writer, Anne Nichols). Husband of 1). Keziah C. Taylor and 2) Gussie Bryant. Father of: Screven Westberry; Mary Westberry; Treeman Westberry; Olive Neida Westberry; Jewel Westberry and Doyle Westberry. Lem's father, W. Charlton Westberry, was a Civil War casualty and Lem and his siblings were deserted by their mother after their father's death. According to a published history of the Bickley Church 1888-1988, Lemuel Westberry was known as "Uncle Lem" to almost everyone who knew him. He was a farmer and lived in a log house on 9 acres.He helped to split the shingles for the church top. He was also responsible for keeping the church yards in good shape. Lem was up every morning at four o'clock. He was known as a "man of his word" and had many friends. Lem died on June 2, 1949 at the age of 93 and was buried at Liberty Church Cemetery in the Bickley Community. Lem had a loyal dog named "Bobby."
He was an uncle to Anne Nichols, author of "Abie's Irish Rose."

He was actually married four times: Kizzie Taylor; Nancy Rowell; Lou Bagley and Gussie Bryant
