Floyd E. Scoles, 93, 1317 W. Fourth St., died Saturday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Deborah Luethje, pastor of the United Church of Christ at Oto, Iowa, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Scoles was born Oct. 3, 1891, in Freemont County, Iowa. He married Selma C. Hars Aug. 7, 1913, in Mapleton, Iowa. They farmed near Oto until 1980 when they retired and moved to Sioux City. Mrs. Scoles died Jan. 27, 1985, in Sioux City. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Oto. Survivors include a daughter, Alice White of Sioux City; a sister, Mabel Mastin of Palmdale, Calif.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
