Having worked most of his adult life as a machinist for the railroads; Red finished his career at Illinois Terminal Railroad, Alton. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Alton, Illinois.
Survivors included his wife, Violet and her daughters, Nancy (Vogt) Schwartz of Belleville, Illinois and Judy (Vogt) Watkins of Dorsey, Illinois.
