Sarah Martha Miller, better know as Sadie, was born August 8, 1880, Sheridan County, Kansas, named for her two grand-mothers, Sarah McConnell and Martha Allen Miller. Sadie died March 20, 1964, Hutchinson Hospital and is buried at the Lone Star Cemetery located approximately two miles north and two miles east of Pretty Prairie, Kansas.
Sadie married February 21, 1900 at the Pretty Prairie United Presbyterian parsonage to Martin Sherman Mercer, born December 13, 1877, son of Edwin Clem, Henrietta (Hetty) Schisler, Mercer. E. C. Mercer came from Rushville, Illinois in February 1872, with wife Hetty and Children, John, Ellen, Edwin and Mae.
