Lynda Olive Grant Obituary

January 20, 1941 - October 11, 2021

Ferndale, Washington - On a cold crisp January 20th of 1941, a baby girl, Lynda Olive, was born to Ellsworth Milton Patrick and Wilma Amelia Judkins. They brought her home to Keesling Street in Bellingham, Washington. She was the 6th of a total of 9 children of the Patrick family. She spent many years of her childhood and her adolescence with her best friend Nanette Raethke and enjoyed many shenanigans with the 16 Cook children who lived across the street. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1959 where she enjoyed pep club for Bellingham Red Raiders. Her Senior year, she met the King of Birch Bay, Russell Grant. Russell took her to the Old Settlers picnic in July of 1959 and three months later they were married on November 14 of the same year. In 1961, they had their first child Rhonda Kay (Brad Oxford). Their second baby girl was Tracy Lynn (Keith Depew) born in 1962, and their third child Kimberly Ann (Fox) was born in 1965. The family spent many happy years on the Smith Road in North Bellingham. In 1968, Lynda started working for Jack Postlewait at the Red Top Drive-In where she loved interacting with many high school kids who came in to hang out and cause trouble. After coming home from work every day, she not only took care of her daughters but also touched the hearts of many children who came and went from the Larson's trailer park. The Grant family left the Smith Road for Swede Hill where the girls finished high school and Russell and Lynda bought Grant's Drive-In (originally Jack's) in 1984. They spent 23 years bringing love, laughter and good burgers to Ferndale community.

Lynda lost her husband Russell in 2009. Lynda spent the rest of her time shopping, gardening and enjoying the company of her brothers, sisters, daughters and her 6 beautiful grandchildren. Mom left us to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 11, 2021.

Lynda is survived by her two brothers Leland Patrick (Erdyne) and Robert Patrick (Jeanie), her children, and her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday October 18 at 12:30pm at Greenacres Memorial Park located at 5700 Northwest Dr. Ferndale, WA. You may share your thoughts and memories of Lynda at www.molesfarewelltributes.com.
