David Garcia, who was born on a large ranch near Bloomington the year prior to the famous California gold rush, died yesterday at the home of his son, David Garcia, 778 Valencia Street, Bloomington.
He was 94 years old. In robust health up to the time of his passing, he was found dead of a heart attack.
Of pure Spanish blood, Garcia was the son of early settlers here from Spain, the family first locating in New Mexico before coming to this vicinity. He was born on Willow avenue, Bloomington, which at that time was site of a large land holding, the country being divided into grants to wealthy Spanish families.
Mrs. Garcia is dead, and surviving in addition to the son are two daughters, Mrs. Soveida Baca, West Riverside, and Mrs. Isabel Hinajosa, Riverside, and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
