Bernadina Werth, 85, a former Blackfoot resident, died in Hillsboro, Ore., Saturday, Nov. 18, 1978, at the home of a daughter. She had been ill with the flu, and had been hospitalized for a short time, just a week before her death.

Mrs. Werth was born July 15, 1893, in Schoenchen, Kan., the daughter of Anton D. and Anne Gottschalk Wasinger.

She grew up in Schoenchen, and was married there Nov. 11, 1909 to Conrad A. Werth. They lived later in Sterling, Colo.; in Blackfoot from 1941 to 1945; in Eureka, Calif.; and in Hillsboro, Ore. He died in 1955.

Mrs. Werth was a member of the Catholic Church. Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.

Survivors include four sons: Marcel Werth, Packwood, Wash., Donald Lyle Werth, Hillsboro, Robert Werth and Lavern Werth, both of Blackfoot; and six daughters, Mrs. Gus (Alexia) Johnson, Rupert, Mrs. DeMor (Isabel) Olney, Hagerman, Mrs. Josephine Hendriks, Yuma, Ariz., Mrs. William (Alberta) Collier, Salt Lake City, Utah, Christine Werth and Donna Lee Murphy, both of Hillsboro; and 37 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad; one son, Jerome Werth, one daughter, Martina Werth, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blackfoot by Father Xavier Aresseril. Vigil service will be at the Sandberg-Hill Funeral Chapel at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery.

Angelen Parrish played the organ meditation and also accompanied Bernard Henscheid as he sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art".

The obituary was read by James Isaak, Jr., a grandson.

Casketbearers were the following grandsons: Dean Batt, Kent Werth, Klar Werth, Francis Bargas, Richard Murphy, Robert Broyles, Richard Broyles, and Verne Johnson.
