Dale Ruevell Moore, Sr. 89 of McAlester died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Allen, Texas.
The family will greet friends and relatives 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery officiated by Mr. Mark Halyard. Burial will follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Tarr, Bill Howery, Mark Ichord and Neal Ichord.
Dale was born to Edgar Samuel and Naomi (Owens) Moore in Sheridan, Arkansas February 22, 1932. He was raised in Golden City, Arkansas and graduated from Booneville High School. He served in the Arkansas National Guard, and was called to active duty in the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. Dale worked as a butcher and meat market manager for Humpty Dumpty grocery store in Tulsa and transferred to McAlester in 1963. He also worked as a salesman for Paul Million Ford and was a cattle rancher.
Dale married Betty Brown on February 14, 1980 in McAlester.
He became a Master Mason in 1957 as a member of South McAlester Lodge #96 where he had served as Lodge Master in 1971. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner, and had served as Shrine president. Dale was a member of the McAlester Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Naomi Moore; his wife, Betty (Brown) Moore in 2001; brothers, Doug Moore and Don Moore.
Dale is survived by son, Dale Moore, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Murphy, Texas; stepson, Luke Workman and wife, Tami of Wilburton; stepdaughter, Leslie Davis and husband, Thomas of Blackwell, Texas; grandchildren, Meghan Moore, Samantha Moore, Reagan Moore, Dr. Chris Beene and wife, Courtney, Jennifer Martin and husband, Dustin, Matt Beene and wife, Jenn, Jake Beene , Josh Beene, Liz Zehren and husband, Joe, Katie Davis, James Davis, Robert Davis, Vickie Davis; five great-grandchildren; special cousin, Virginia Jones of Texas; other family members and friends.
