JANE WATSON WHITNEY 1928 - 2007

Jane Watson Whitney died on Sunday, December 9, 2007.
Mrs. Whitney, a native of Newnan, Georgia was born to Robert and Minnie Watson on January 23, 1928. She married Jim Whitney in 1948, and they spent fifty-three years together until he went to be with the Lord in 2001. She had resided in Pensacola from 1968 - 2005 before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2006 to be with her daughter Kathy Boggs (and her husband Marcus) and three grandchildren, Brian and Mason Boggs, and Shelley Douglas (and her husband Ryan).
Also surviving are son, Michael Whitney (and wife Jane); brothers, Milton Watson (and wife Christine), Harold Watson (and wife Jenelle), and Lenton Watson (and wife Seretha); and sister, Dorothy Lore.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents were brother, Joe Watson; and sister, Jennie Lewis.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 with the Reverend Ron Lentini of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be held in Barrancas National Cemetery where Mrs. Whitney will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jim Whitney.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Pensacola.
The funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
