Mary Jo (Medley) Brown, 84, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of Flaherty, died November 1, 2021, at Signature Healthcare Center of Elizabethtown.
Mrs. Brown was born October 20, 1937, in Meade County, Ky, to Joe and Lillian Medley. She attended school in Flaherty through the 10th grade at which time she quit school to marry her sweetheart. She later obtained a GED. She was active in the Flaherty community and at St. Martin's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Glenn; her parents, Joe and Lillian Medley; siblings, Joseph Lamar Medley, Helen Solar, Randall Medley, James Merlin Medley, Charles Ralph "GD" Medley and Joyce Brown.
She is survived by James "Anthony" Brown, her husband of 68 years; children, Debbie Harlan and her husband Brian and Greg Brown and his wife Pam; 14 grandchildren, Glenn Brown, Abbie Yadon, Kyle Brown, Devin Brown, Kayla Brown, Joshua Brown, Cayden Brown, Zay Brown, Tyler Brown, Jeremiah Brown, Alyssa Brown, Emily Buis, Mariah Ballew,and Arianna Baird; and 9 great grandchildren, Olivia Brown, Gracie Brown, Glen Yadon, Landan Ballew, Wyatt Ballew, Bentlee Ballew, Luke Ballew, Lincoln Buis and Mason Buis.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours in Flaherty, KY. Burial will follow in St. Martin of Tours Cemetery.
