He was born on August 26, 1929 in Georgetown, IL to Andrew and Arzella (Watts) Acord. On February 15, 1948 in Vermilion Grove, IL, he married Lorene Mae "Winnie" Wright, and together they raised their four children.
Clarence had a great sense of humor and could tell joke after joke without missing a beat. He loved camping and fishing and spent many weekends with family and friends at the campground. He was a beloved grandpa and enjoyed playing the guitar, harmonica and piano, and making up rhyming songs for the kids.
He worked at Clarks Hills School, Gilliam U-Haul and Fauber Construction, retiring from Wabash Valley Hospital as Director of Grounds and Housekeeping in 1991 after 16 years of service.
Clarence married Phyllis Darding on August 31, 1996 at his home in Warren County, IN, where they have lived for the past 25 years. Both attended Attica Christian Church.
Clarence is survived by his second wife; four children; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
