Funeral services for John Bembeneck, 61, of Buffalo Prairie, were held Monday at 2 p. m at the Reiser Funeral Chapel in Aledo with the Rev. Antonio P. Elizondo officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Prairie cemetery.
Mr. Bembeneck died Friday, May 6, 1966, at 2:45 p. m. in Muscatine General Hospital where he had been a patient five weeks.
He was born on May 14, 1904 in Rosebud, Penn., the son of Gottlieb and Katherine Bembeneck. He married Minnie Rausch on Aug. 10, 1927 in Clinton, Ia., and they resided all of their married life in the Buffalo Prairie area.
Mr. Bembeneck was a farmer and had also been employed at the John Deere Works. He was a member of the Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, John of Buffalo Prairie; two grandchildren, two brothers, William of Clinton, Ia., and Earl of Davenport; and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Fleming and Mrs. Edna Westphal, both of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
