Harriet Elizabeth Vaughan, 83, of Petoskey, MI, died March 2, 1996 at her residence.

Funeral will be 2 p.m Tuesday, March 5, at the Slone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Gary Sumeru will officiate.

Burial will lake place in Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey.

Mrs. Vaughan was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Petoskey, the daughter of Orlando and Leona (Hawkins) Annis.

She grew up and attended school in Petoskey.

On Nov. 29,1929, she married William W. Vaughan in Petoskey. He preceded her in death in 1961.

Mrs Vaughan had lived in Petoskey all of her life, where she worked at Hookers Laundry for 30 years. She then worked in the housekeeping department at Little Traverse Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1971.

Mrs. Vaughan enjoyed feeding the deer and turkeys. She was a member of the Petoskey congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include:
• three children,
⁃ Walker W. Vaughan and his wife, Betty, of Harbor Springs, MI,
⁃ Beatrice Nardin and her husband. Donald, of Holt, MI, and
⁃ Alfred J. Vaughan and his wife, Nancy, of Shelbyville, MI;
• 10 grand children;
• 16 great-grandchildren;
• four sisters,
⁃ Ruth Wheaton of FL,
⁃ Caroline Hawkins of Phoenix, AZ,
⁃ Alice Southwood of Petoskey, and
⁃ Ethelynne Niewick of Grand Rapids, MI;
• one brother, Ralph Annis, of Oden, MI;
• and by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today, March 4, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey.
