Mrs. Eula Burns Allen, 81, of Inez, died Wednesday evening in a Victoria hospital. Born Sept. 29, 1905, in Corsicana, to the late Charlie Louis and Ann Elizabeth Holland Burns.

She was a retired bookbinder and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. A former resident of Beaumont, she was a member of the Westberry Baptist Church in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Brookside Funeral Home Chapel in Houston. Burial will follow the services in Brookside Cemetery in Houston under the direction of Brookside Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.

She has two sons who survived her, Jerry Van Allen Jr., of Arkansas; Billy R. Allen, of Inez; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Van Allen, and a son, Louis D. Allen.

She is buried with her two sisters; Ina and Lela at Brookside Memorial Park, Houston, Texas.

Daughter of Charles "Charlie" Louis Burns; died in 1929; buried somewhere in Corsicana, Texas according to his obituary and death certificate. He could be in Oakwood Cemetery with his wife.

Eula married Earnest Harris in 1925 in Haskell, Texas.
