Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church, Rev. Melvon Ireland, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Norfolk Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Gifford was born Sept. 7, 1885, in Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Long. She had resided in Norfolk about 60 years.
She is survived by two sons, Earl and Clarence Bathke of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. Leo Marsolek of Omaha, Mrs. Harold Nelson of Arlington, Va.; Mrs. Chester Vogeler of Omaha; and Mrs. Wayne Schlecht of Norfolk, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three brothers, Emmet and Lloyd Long of Norfolk, and Cortna Long of Meadow Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. F. Gifford.
