Thomas Phillips, a retired porter for the Illinois Central Railroad, died Monday at St. Charles Manor Nursing Center in Luling. He was 90. Mr. Phillips was born in Vacherie and lived in New Orleans for 10 years and in Luling for the past six years.
Survivors include a son, C.J. Phillips; a daughter, Lyletha Parker; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass was said Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. Burial was in the church cemetery. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home handled arrangements.
