Marjorie "Margo" Dora Miller George Hickok, longtime resident of the Village of Goshen, NY, entered into rest on August 22, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. She was 80. Margo was born Marjorie Dora Miller on August 9, 1931 in Erie, PA, the daughter of Wesley and Marie Miller.

Margo was best known as a professional model, modeling instructor, television and radio writer, producer and personality, whose career began in the 50′s as a featured personality on "WBRC" (NBC's affiliate station in Birmingham, AL). Margo was asked to make a special guest appearance as a beauty expert on NBC's Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1960. It was on her Tonight Show appearance that Margo first met Eva, Jolie and Zsa Zsa Gabor, who invited her to Goshen, NY.

Among the businesses Margo founded and operated were: The Margo George Modeling School and Agency of Birmingham AL, co-founded with her first husband, Frank W. George; The Charm Barn Modeling School in Goshen, later located in Sugar Loaf, NY; Margo George Modeling & Talent Management of Goshen; and The Hudson Valley Models' Guild. In 1980, Margo and her husband, Bill Hickok reopened what was the first inn in the county, what is now the charming, Anthony Dobbins' Stagecoach Inn Bed & Breakfast of Goshen.

Margo inspired the successful start-up of many entrepreneurs and encouraged them to celebrate their success through charity. Her generous support of charitable organizations continued throughout her life and included: The Cancer Society, Heart Association, Day Care, St. Johns, St. James, The Methodist Church, The Girl Scouts, The Model's Association of America (teaching them to give back), Arden Hill Hospital & Life Care Center, Glen Arden, and ASPCA. She was also a reader for the blind, patron of the arts and champion of "Green" practices and politics.

She was predeceased by her second husband, William O. Hickok V, who died on January 16, 1987. Margo is survived by her children: Frank George and his wife, Janet of Hawaii, Gregory George and his wife, Deborah Karsten of Goshen, Barbara George and her husband, Albert Mastice of New Jersey, Neil MacDonald Hickok of Goshen, and grandchildren: Haley Bayong of Hawaii, Raven Brooks of New Jersey, Zachary, Elijah and Trevor George of Goshen.
