Lawrence Fisher, age 73, of Route 1, Hamlet, North Carolina, died Monday, November 1, 1982, at Moore Memorial Hospital, in Pinehurst, North Carolina. A retired landscape specialist with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, he was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church, a life member of Rockingham Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of Hamlet American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was born December 7, 1908, in Robeson County, North Carolina, a son of Elijah Owen and Margie Beard Fisher.

He is survived by: his wife, the former Cecil Patrick Fisher; a brother, Fred Fisher, of Saint Pauls, North Carolina; and three nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Watson-King Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Butran officiating. Entombment will be at the Richmond County Memorial Park mausoleum. The family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of their choice. Friends will be received tonight from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home by the family.
