Born in Somersworth on Oct. 25, 1942, he was the son of Joseph L.F. and Jean O. (Ouellette) Dumont. He was primarily a lifelong resident of Portsmouth, attending St. Patrick School and Portsmouth High School.
Jake, as he was known to many, was employed for a number of years in the baking industry working for Joe's Bakery on Prospect Street and Jeanne's Bakery in Portsmouth. He was also employed for a time at Tri County Nursing Home in Kittery, Maine, and as a security guard at First National Bank in Portsmouth.
He is survived by his children, a son James of Portsmouth, daughter Donna of Washington state and daughter Jacqueline; two sisters, Rose Corliss of Kittery, and Lucille Heguy of Rye? a nephew, William J. Corliss, and two nieces, Deborah A. Binder and Cindy M. Lloyd and her husband John, and six grand nephews.
SERVICES: Will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to Merrimac Valley Hospice 360 Merrimac Street Building 9 C/O External Relations Lawrence, MA 01843. Arrangements are entrusted to J.S Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.
