Phillip Wade Watson was born January 19, 1953 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Phyllis (Hawkins) Watson. He graduated from Muscatine High School and from Muscatine Community College. He served honorably in the United States Army. Wade was united in marriage to Dretha Joyce Watson on February 28, 1973 in Muscatine.

Wade owned and operated Heartland Designs in Muscatine with Dretha. He had also worked for Team Staffing for ten years and for Mills Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church and enjoyed old cars and old films, especially Wild West stories.

Wade will be deeply missed by his son, Shannon Watson of Davenport, Iowa; adopt son/biological grandson, Zachary Taylor Massey of Wapello, Iowa; grandchildren: Reese Michael Christy, Aidan David Christy, Ethan Merle Massey and Marty Leroy Massey; siblings: Ronald Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Judy Watson of Wagner, Oklahoma; and Debra Watson of Winfield, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dretha; son, Shawn Ray Watson, daughter, Marleana Ann Massey, and grandson Jacob Ryan Watson.
