Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Happy Church of Christ with Rick Bloodworth, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at the Happy Cemetery. Mrs. Moudy will be available for viewing at Happy's Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 1 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Born September 16, 1923 in Washington, DC to George Russell Blake, Sr. and Frances Bugg Blake.
Her family moved to Winfield, KS and resided there until she went to Abilene Christian College for two years and completed her Business degree at the University of Texas.
She met Captain Foy E. Moudy of Happy TX at church in Winfield, KS while he was stationed for pilot training during World War II. They courted by means of letters and when he returned from his tour of duty in Italy they married in October 1945. They moved to Happy, TX and began farming where they raised 5 children. She was part of the Happy Church of Christ for 76 years where she taught Sunday school and VBS for many years. Her devotion to God and to family and friends was evident throughout her life even in her last hours. What an inspiration to all who knew her, and mostly to her family!
She is survived by her children, Eddie & Beth Moudy of Abilene, Mark & Susan Moudy of Happy, Anne Rollins of Lubbock, Metta & Tim Paden of Lubbock, and Tim & Mevlyn Moudy of Happy; 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one sister, Mary House of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her parents, a sister Margaret Groves and a brother George Blake.
She will be missed by a multitude of family, church family and friends who will miss the encouragement and love she gave each and every one of them. It was relationships rather than physical things that she cared most for in her life.
The family would like to thank family, friends and BSA Hospice for all the care and prayers for our mother.
The family suggests memorials be made to High Plains Children's Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114 or to the Happy Church of Christ /Missions, 304 W. Main, Happy, TX 79042.
