Mary C. Becker, 90, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 1211 Finley St., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at the care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 7 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Dubuque, daughter of Herman and Matilda (Farni) Bellmann. Mary graduated from St. Joseph's School in Rickardsville.

She married Peter Langkamp; he preceded her in death on May 8, 1936. Ten years later, she married Robert Becker on Aug. 29, 1946; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1987. The two, along with their sister-in-law, Adele, owned and operated Kruse's Grocery Store from 1962 until 1977. Mary also worked in the kitchen at Hempstead High School from 1979 until her retirement in 1985.

Mary was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Parish. She enjoyed attending daily Mass and praying the Rosary.

She loved caring for the grandchildren and was renowned for her homemade bread and pies. Mary spent the last four years of her life at Stonehill Care Center.

Surviving are her children, Peter J. (Rosemary) Langkamp, of Winnetka, Ill., Jean Becker and John Becker, both of Dubuque, Mary Panther, of Iowa City, and Paula (Robert) Watson, of Mount Carroll, Ill.; her grandchildren, Peter T. (Maureen) Langkamp, Christopher Langkamp, Madeleine Woodward, Sarah Seidler, Michael (Jill) Becker, Allison Panther, Mary, Hans, Greta and Franz Becker and Thomas Watson; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Langkamp and Caroline Woodward; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Becker; her son-in-law, Michael Seidler; her siblings, Loras (Luella), Gene and Rudolph (Joan) Bellmann, Clara (Doyle) Ahmann and Agnes Melssen; her sisters-in-law, Helen Bellmann and Mary Jane Bellmann, both of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Seidler; a sister, Ceil Tigges; and three brothers, Leonard, Joseph and Carl Bellmann.
