Agnes E. Melssen, 82, formerly of Dubuque, passed away November 4, 2013 in Sandusky, Ohio

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Rev Dwayne Thoman officiating. Entombment in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1640 Main St, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Agnes was born August 16, 1931 in Dubuque, daughter of Herman and Mathilda (Farni) Bellmann. She married Elmer Melssen April 18, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2001.

She graduated from the former St. Joseph Academy and was employed as a teacher's associate at Jefferson Junior High School, both in Dubuque.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynne Melssen, of Ames, IA; two sons, Jeffrey Melssen, of Algonquin, IL and Gary (Patricia) Melssen, of Sandusky, Ohio; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Loras (Luella) Bellmann, and Rudy (Joan) Bellmann, both of Dubuque; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Bellmann, of Durango, IA and Jane Bellmann, of Dubuque.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Becker, Cecelia Tigges, and Clara Ahmann and brothers, Leonard, Joseph, Carl and Gene Bellmann; and brothers-in-law, Rob Becker, Ray Tigges and Doyle Ahmann.
