Bart Milo "Possum" Alford, 62, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on June 11, 1959 in Spanish Ford, Utah but spent all of his youth in Tatum, New Mexico. He is the son of James and Millie Alford. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 13, 2021 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Elk City, Oklahoma.
He married the love of his life, Catherine Jean Marcley on April 28, 2018 at the Field of Dreams in Elk City, Oklahoma. Bart enjoyed raising colts and working with horses. He worked in the oilfield working his way up to consultant over forty years. He was also a PCRA Judge and a great roper. Bart always wanted to be a rodeo clown and bull fighter.
Bart will always be remembered as someone who would help anyone that asked and never turned anyone away. He loved teaching his children and always taught them to "do your best and a little more".
He was a member of Trinity Fellowship in Sayre, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Trinity Fellowship, Sayre, Oklahoma. Rev. Bill Green will officiate, Rev. Andy Taylor will assist.
Cherishing his memory is loving wife, Catherine of the home; three sons, James Alford and Billy Alford both of Roswell, New Mexico, Dylan Burgess of Elk City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Rayleigh Burgess of Elk City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Sophia Alford of Roswell, New Mexico; one brother, Don Burk of El Paso, Texas; five sisters, Loretta Belonghi of San Diego, California, Sherry Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee, Sheila Jensen of Sacramento, California, Montez Jensen and Dolores Empy both of Portland, Oregon.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Millie Alford; one brother, Brett Jensen; one sister, Patricia Jensen.
