James then worked in the Oil field as a roughneck and truck driver and also worked extensively in Gas Plant Construction.
James was an avid Horseman who raised and ran numerous horses on various racetracks throughout the Southwest.
James is survived by one son, Bart Milo Alford of Elk City OK; one sister, Wanda Paulhamus of Amarillo TX; two grandsons, James Wesley and Billy Ray Alford, both of Roswell, NM; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia.
