French lyric baritone, father of Claude Nougaro (1929-2004).

As a child, Pierre Nougaro quickly discovered the world of music and attended the Théâtre du Capitole. He enrolled in evening classes at the conservatory at the urging of his parents, themselves choristers.
Obtaining a first prize for lyric declamation gives him access to the Parisian stages.

Recognized as a true singer of exception, in 1950 he was named director of the theater of Besançon then of the theater of Rennes in 1958.

In Rennes, the theater was then in crisis and Pierre was responsible for bringing back the public in large numbers with lyrical galas, operettas and one new creation per year. He also brought in big names from the Paris Opera.

In 1967, he retired from the Rennes theater (which later became l'opéra de Rennes) after having successfully completed the reorganization began ten years before.

From the 1970s and for many years to come, his strong personality and his dramatic talent opened the doors to a new career on the small and big screen. We saw him in many telefilms, and, in the cinema, he turns in particular for Claude Chabrol (1930-2010) and for Claude Langmann, dit Claude Berri (1934-2009).
